Our latest video for Saltram which includes animation focuses on the forthcoming expansion of Saltram East. By creating this 2 minute film , it offers a glance into what the new country park will look like. With a green space that overlooks the River Plym and lying outside Plymouth, the rolling landscape and tranquil setting provides an ideal escape into nature. This video captures the essence of the National Trust’s plans to add new trails and upgrade existing ones, making them more accessible to all visitors, including those with wheelchairs and prams. These enhancements are designed to open up more of the park’s beauty, history, and natural landscapes to a wider audience.
Saltram House, the centrepiece of the estate, has a storied history dating back to 1743 when it was transformed by the Parker family into a grand mansion. The house is renowned for its ornate interiors, featuring original Chinese wallpapers, a distinguished collection of paintings by Sir Joshua Reynolds, and a Neo-classical Saloon designed by Robert Adam. The estate’s gardens, with their tropical plants, specimen trees, and a working 18th-century orangery, offer visitors year-round interest. This video serves as a visual and interpretive representation of the planned developments, allowing viewers to envision how these changes will enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of Saltram while preserving its historical and cultural essence.
