Preparation, discussions with client, site finding to establish specific location to film and house all the machinery before we were ready to film took approximately 3 months. This video provides behind the scenes insight into the steps that are undertaken to create the live-action video. The process began with concept images to give the client an idea of what Pushed was planning to create. These plans were turned into 3D modelling which could accurately represent the scale, sizes and timing needed for this project to be a success.
Once the client had signed off on these mock-ups, the location was scouted, which had to be big enough to accommodate all the machinery. There was then the need to prepare the machinery and ensure health and safety were taken care of properly as well as ensuring everything was tested accurately. This entire process, including the filming day, took approximately 3 months. There was then the post-production, in which all the footage was edited together to create the impression of a one shot that follows the employees of Champion Groundworks through their progression at the business.
Although the resulting finished products of live action are often succinct, minimalist, and short in order to translate well to digital marketing and shareability, that doesn’t mean the process of creating animated content is brief, particularly when construction equipment is involved! This video helps potential clients to better understand what happens from start to finish when working with Pushed.
